My World Chapter 6 ( The Beast Within 5)

"Alright,  you packed a few things for the ride I see" Dakota said, "you got everything you need, right."
"I think so" I replied, "D I am still nervous about this , I hope Mullins will talk to me."
"If he won't talk to you he will talk to me, weather he wants to or not" Dakota told me.

"I can be pretty convincing at times" as she flashed a quick smile at me.

I grabbed my few things I was taking along with us,  reached for my gun, and started walking towards the door, when Dakota said  "Wait a minute Jenna."

Her expression got serious, and she looked right in to my soul.

"Have you ever killed anybody" she asked.

"What" came my startled response.

"Jenna, you're carrying a gun dear, the day is coming when you are going to have to use it, like it or not" she explained, "and the chances are pretty damn good that we will meet up with your Father someday, or he will meet up with us,"  she paused for a moment
 " I want you to remember this before you put that bullet in him."
" There is no going back once you pull that trigger, so you be damn good and sure that is what you want to do." she told me.

"You are not the world's must stable person Baby Girl, and you know that, just make sure you can live with yourself if you take a life, no matter how bad they deserve it, it's never easy, and you never get over it."
"Now let's go" she said

We walked out in to the morning sun and over to Dakota's ride, I placed my things in the trunk and took my seat in the passenger side when this man I had never seen before walked up to Dakota.

"Miss Dakota" he said "I have been looking for you, there is this strange man asking questions around town."

"So" came Dakota's response "there's people passing through here all the time, what makes this any different Ralph,  what kind of questions is he asking, and how does this make it of importance to me"

"Dakota, he's looking for somebody, and by the way he described this person, they look a hell of a lot like your friend over there, also there was this young girl with him, and she said it was her sister, and that she might just be in danger, I just thought you might want to know Miss Dakota" he said.

"Thank you Ralph Do you know where we can find this man?"
"He was over down by the river side of town Miss Dakota, they were camping out by the old mill, I believe they are still there, he said they would be around town for a couple days, and to let him know if I saw anything of this person."
"OK, you did good Ralph, thank you, and if I come across any candy bars, I will grab them for you." Dakota smiled at him.

"Oh thank you Miss Dakota" he laughed, "You know how I like my candy bars."

I watched him walk away, as Dakota turned and made her way to the vehicle, she sat down in the drivers seat, looked at me and said,

"Well Jenna, I guess our trip just got shorter."

I bit down on my lip, and closed my eyes.
